PARENTING FOR LIFE - EI SKILLS FOR PARENTINGOur children and adolescents are overwhelmed by the many pressures and challenges they experience in their daily lives. This emotional pressure can cause great unease, resulting in behavioral problems, learning difficulties, addictions, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, isolation, aggressive behavior, bullying and even suicide. Invest in your child's emotional and mental health.
Help your child to... ■ Identify & verbalize emotions ■ Get along better with friends & family ■ Stand up to peer pressure ■ Perform to their full potential, academically ■ Resolve conflict without being aggressive or violent ■ Learn from their experiences ■ Take risks and to accept setbacks ■ Show empathy for others ■ Learn to love & accept themselves. The aim of this course is... ■ To introduce parents to the skills needed for emotional intelligence ■ To provide a creative, non-threatening environment for parents to share their parenting struggles ■ For the participants to grow in parenting skills that can support the emotional and social health of the whole family Details ■ Time commitment: 5 sessions of 2 hours each (10 hours in total) ■ Personal commitment: If you are parenting as a couple, both parents are advised to attend ■ Cost: $160 per household ($80 deposit to be paid with application) ■ Please note that this course must be paid in full at or before the first session |

PLEASE NOTE:
Minimum of 6 persons per course and maximum of 12 (with an assistant trainer). Parents of children in counselling or emotional intelligence classes may be advised to attend parenting guidance courses and/or other courses to support the healing process in the family system. Hope Unlimited will refer the participant or client for further professional help if needed. Travelling costs to be discussed, where outside of the Winnipeg area. |
